ants and their control
There are many species of ants that are pests in Southeast Texas. Many of these are commonly lumped under the heading "small ants," such as pavement ants (Tetramorium caespitum, shown on the right), pharaoh ants (Monomorium pharaonis), crazy ants(Anoplolepis spp.), and odorous house ants (Tapinoma sessile).
Although these ants may look similar to the untrained eye, their biology and habits are different enough that proper identification and specialized treatment techniques are necessary for effective control.
